Office Profile

Jim Grogan has been part of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network for more than 18 years – yet he finds his philosophy echoes that written by the Northwestern Mutual Executive Committee in 1888:

"The ambition of the Network has been less to be large than to be safe; its aim is to rank first in benefits to policyowners rather than first in size. Valuing quality above quantity, it has preferred to secure its business under certain salutary restrictions and limitations rather than to write a much larger business at the possible sacrifice of those valuable points which have made the Northwestern preeminently the policyowner’s company."

The Grogan Group succeeds by putting the policyowner first. And Jim Grogan leads that effort, focusing on developing Financial Representatives with the knowledge and enthusiasm to carry on the Northwestern Mutual tradition. He emphasizes mentoring and support to help the individuals in his office advance professionally and personally.

Jim himself has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) professional designation, the highest level of studies in the life insurance profession. He continues his professional development as a board member of both the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the NMFN Managing Directors Association.

Jim holds a bachelor of science degree in business from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. His professional achievements include earning the National Sales Achievement Award in 1991 and many times thereafter (1991, 1993-2007). He qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table 2002-2008 and has won the National Quality Award every year since 1992.

Community service is also important to Jim Grogan. He is a board member of Emmanuel Community Methodist Church and a proud member of the Evans Scholars Alumni Board.

Jim and Meg, his wife, live in Menomonee Falls with their 13-year-old son, Matthew. Jim enjoys golf, vacationing with his family and cheering on the University of Wisconsin Badgers.
